The French bid for Makro and Metro, described as sketchy by Standaard sources, did not meet the requirements of the tender and its credibility was questioned.
For the 1,400 workers of Makro, it’s the end of hope, but just over 500 Metro employees could be taken over by the Dutch catering specialist Sligro.
Contacted by Belga, the unions indicate that they have not yet been informed of these latest decisions.
