The 20-year-old finished sixth and was thus eliminated.

– I am very emotional because this was my last race. I am retiring from swimming, she told Claro Sports with tears in her eyes.

“It didn’t turn out the way I wanted”

She then went on to express her unhappiness at not being able to get further in her last competition.

– It didn’t turn out the way I wanted. I sincerely apologize to my homeland, but I did what I could, despite everything that happened to me before. I am content to retire here with a full arena in front of the Olympic crowd.
