Energy Access Ventures launches a new fund targeting African cleantechs

Energy Access Ventures (EAV) and Lion’s Head Global Partners will partner in a second venture capital fund focused on Africa, cleantech, climate-efficient (resource) next-generation companies, and B2B and B2C related. This is also the occasion chosen by EAV for its rebranding.

The organization will change its name to E3, which stands for Enabling Emerging Entrepreneurs. Thus, we will speak of the new E3 fund, which follows on from EAV I. The latter was raised in February 2015 and has a size of 75,000,000 euros with 14 portfolio companies and 1 exit. The initiative aims for a low carbon economy.

It will harness the creative potential of African entrepreneurs and support businesses with seed capital that can shape the path of Africa’s productive low-carbon economies. EAV Managing Partner Paras Patel said he was delighted to be joining the Lion’s Head team.
