Any household meeting the conditions to receive the basic energy package granted by the government in the context of rising energy prices will be able to submit a request to the FPS Economy from January 23, if it has not yet received anything.
In particular, the government decided last September to grant households that meet the conditions provided for a basic energy package for the months of November and December 2022 for gas (135 euros/month) and electricity (61 euros/month). ). When drawing up the 2023-2024 budget in October, the authorities had also decided to extend these bonuses until March 2023 (basic package 2).
The premium applies to all variable contracts. For a fixed contract, the bonuses will only be granted if this contract was concluded or renewed following September 30, 2021.
The measure is not intended for beneficiaries of the social tariff.
In the vast majority of cases, this basic package will be paid automatically, either by a reduction in the deposit invoice or by a payment from the energy supplier into the citizen’s bank account. However, the bonus may not fall automatically.
This can be explained by the fact that the contact details as a customer with the supplier do not correspond to those of the national register.
The FPS Economy specifies on Friday that households which have not seen the color of this aid will be able to contact its services from January 23, but not before. This request for the first basic package (November and December 2022) may be submitted by online encoding, by email or by post, until April 30.
