Tenants will not feel the effects of rising energy costs until next year. The Vorarlberg tenants’ association is very concerned that many will then find themselves in a difficult financial situation and is calling for measures.

“We are very concerned that the increase in energy costs will put many tenants in very difficult financial situations,” says Annette Fritsch, Managing Director of the Vorarlberg Tenants’ Association, to ORF Vorarlberg.

Since the operating costs are always settled in the following year, the really big financial problems are expected in the next year and the year following that. For Fritsch, the federal government’s anti-inflation package is just a “hot drop in the bucket”. She calls for additional and sustainable measures.

Saving energy is becoming a very important issue for more and more people. According to the Vorarlberg Energy Institute, it is easy to save on room temperature. The average room temperature has risen steadily in recent years – more on this in Heating has been turned up more and more in recent years.
