European energy giants are resisting Brussels’ plan to impose a special tax on superprofits stemming from soaring world oil, gas and coal prices. They could indeed win their case. The Ministers of Energy of the Twenty-Seven who meet Friday in Brussels could indeed bury the initiative. The two previous meetings devoted to this subject had resulted in no decision.
