Ensuring Safe Road Coexistence: Navigating the Challenges of Montreal’s Multi-Modal Transportation System

2023-08-19 16:18:14

Bicycles, electric scooters, scooters, motorists… Cohabitation on our roads in Montreal is becoming more and more complex, now that different means of transport are circulating in the metropolis.

According to the SAAQ, both bicycles and scooter riders, the bike path should be preferred. Although the measure is clear, there is still a lot of confusion that leads to accidents.

Statistics from 2022 by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec show that sharing the road is not easy.

Nine cyclists died on the roads in Quebec involving an automobile, 79 pedestrians, 61 occupants of a motorcyclist, five victims in a moped and 216 occupants of an automobile, a heavy toll that proves the importance of being vigilant.
