The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is scouting for vocal talent to open each morning of the 2027 Pennsylvania Farm Show, inviting residents to submit audition tapes for its annual “Oh, Say, Can You Sing?” contest. The selected performers will have the opportunity to sing the national anthem live to kick off each day of the event, which is scheduled to run from January 9 through January 16 in Harrisburg.
Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding announced that the contest is open to Pennsylvania residents of all ages, whether they choose to enter as individuals or as part of a group. Beyond the daily morning performances, winners may also be invited to showcase their talents during other special events and competitions held throughout the week at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.
Submit a Video by Email
To participate, entrants must submit an original video recording of an unaccompanied performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The recording must be created specifically for this contest, as videos captured for other purposes will be disqualified. Participants are required to email a YouTube link of their performance to [email protected] no later than 11:59 p.m. on November 22, 2026.

Following the submission period, the Farm Show will feature finalists on its Facebook page from November 25 through December 2. During this time, the public is invited to vote for their favorites using Facebook reactions, with voting closing at 11:59 p.m. on the final day. Once the 12 winners are announced on Facebook and notified via email, they will be provided with their specific performance dates.
