CHAIRMAN of the Sheet and Safety Glass Association (AKLP), Yustinus Gunawan, welcomed the government’s move to continue the specific natural gas price policy (HGBT). This is considered a breath of fresh air for entrepreneurs to get certainty regarding gas prices and supplies.
“Business actors highly appreciate the government’s commitment to the continuation of HGBT. This can restore investor confidence so that they do not wait and see. Investors will definitely move immediately to continue the expansion and realization of new investments,” he said.
With competitiveness maintained due to the continuation of the HGBT policy, Yustinus said business actors will optimize utilization. This includes boosting product exports amid the global trade war between the Western alliance and China.
Regarding the plan to expand the industry that enjoys cheap gas, the AKLP Chairman left it to the government. According to him, the government must take into account the financial study of granting HGBT to industrial sectors.
“The reason for not yet determining the expansion is probably that the government is still reviewing the financial and strategic benefits to implement priorities based on the multiplier effect in the future,” he concluded. (Z-2)
