Enzo Pérez's Future at River: Will He Stay at the Club in 2024?

One of the issues that most worries River fans is knowing whether Enzo Pérez will continue in the Greatest in 2024. In the last hours, Jorge Brito referred to the issue and made it clear what the club’s position is.

There is no doubt that Enzo Pérez is one of River’s great idols and this is what the fans notice every time the Mendoza native takes the field or is replaced. Therefore, his continuity in Núñez is something that worries fans who want Enzo Pérez at the club for 2024. His contract ends in December 2023 and he has not yet decided what he is going to do for next year.

In dialogue with ESPN, Jorge Brito referred to the continuity of Enzo Pérez in River: “Just as happened to us with Pinola, with Leo Ponzio, I think they are great players, they are very representative within the squad, all three were captains. Enzo has a great influence on all the players on the squad. He is going to have to choose, when the year ends, what he is going to do. Hopefully we can continue counting on him and that he can say when his last game will be. He shows game by game that if he plays he is at the level and is the best in that position.”

Enzo Pérez himself declared at the time that he will communicate his decision once the football year for River ends and he still left no clues as to what he will do. The reality is that the club opened the doors for him to continue, but it will depend on him if he wants to continue competing at the highest level in the future. As an alternative, the captain considers the possibility of returning to Deportivo Maipú, the club in his hometown where he trained.

The man from Mendoza began to get into the hearts of the fans when in mid-2017 and having a current contract with Valencia, he decided to return to play in the country and do so for River, the club of his loves. But what came next definitely earned it a place in big history.
