We are talking about the space simulator Kerbal Space Program, the distribution of which took place from 5 to 12 January. The first time after the start of the promotion, the game was available for activation to Russian users, but subsequently from the distribution gone.

It is noteworthy that it follows from the letter that the consumer himself initiated the refund procedure, although in reality gamers did not ask the Epic Games Store administration to rid themselves of a free copy of the Kerbal Space Program.

User of the portal “Igromania” under the pseudonym Strider_Man told about a related situation: the Kerbal Space Program was not taken away from him, but they are not allowed to launch either. The installed program gives an error about the lack of rights to own the game.

Calculating the cause of what happened is not difficult: Private Division, which publishes the Kerbal Space Program, is a division of Take-Two Interactive, which suspended work in Russia.

Why the distribution of the Kerbal Space Program was available to Russian players at all is an open question, but this is not the first time the Epic Games Store has been weird with gifts: at the end of December, the store by mistake made a free director’s cut Death Strandinga not the usual.
