The Chinese Eplus3D comes with a laser powder bed metal printer with a range of up to 2050 by 2050 by 1100 mm and with a standard 36 lasers. This can be expanded to a maximum of 64 lasers. In the standard version there are 36 galvanometers in the machine that are synchronized.

The latter shows where the complexity of multilaser AM systems can be seen. The alignment of the lasers and the synchronized collaboration. With the EP-M2050, the lasers are grouped in a matrix of six by six lasers; for the version with 64 lasers this is eight by eight lasers.

Choice of 500 and 700W lasers

The EP-M2050 offers the flexibility to choose between 500W or 700W fiber lasers, allowing it to process a variety of materials including titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, stainless steel and tool steel. With a layer thickness range of 20-120 µm, the EP-M2050 excels in the production of large-scale, high-precision components. Just like all large metal PBF printers from Eplus3D the EP-M2050 can be connected to our closed sieve tower. This offers more safety for the operators and prevents machine downtime and material waste.

Developed for customer

The manufacturer says it developed the new machine at the request of a customer. He wants to approach production in a revolutionary different way than before. Optionally, the 3D metal printer can be enlarged in the Z-axis from the standard 1100 mm to a length of 2000 mm. The standard print volume is 4m3. The theoretical print speed is a maximum of 1080 cm3/hour. The material density with which the new machine prints is more than 99.9% and the fluctuation in mechanical properties in the workpiece is less than 5%.

With this large format L-PBF machine, E3Plus focuses on customers in the aviation industry and other sectors where large, precision components are required.
