Donegal TikTok sensation Eric Roberts and his wife Niamh are kicking off 2025 with an incredible gift: teh arrival of their firstborn child! The bouncing baby boy made his debut at 9:06 am this morning at Letterkenny University Hospital, weighing a healthy 6 pounds 3 ounces.
The Roberts family wasn’t the only one celebrating a new addition to their clan on New Year’s Day. Local couple Sharon and Lee O’Hara welcomed their daughter, norah, at 8:30 am. The little one weighed a healthy 8 pounds 10 ounces.
Across the country, Ireland’s first baby of the year, Bradley, arrived just 19 seconds after midnight at the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin. Proud parents Eve Colley and Eric tyrell couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the new year.

Archyde recently caught up with Donegal TikTok star Eric Roberts on the arrival of his baby boy, born on New Year’s Day. Martin, from Archyde, takes the led.
Martin: Eric, congratulations on the arrival of your son! What was it like welcoming him into the world on such a special day?
Eric: It was truly amazing, Martin. There’s just something magical about a New Year’s baby. Seeing him for the first time was the most amazing feeling in the world. It was like the perfect start to a brand new year, for our growing family and for him.
Martin: How are you and Niamh adjusting to parenthood?
Eric: Niamh is doing amazing.she’s a natural! We’re both tired, of course, but completely smitten.Every little gurgle and coo is just the sweetest thing. It’s definitely a learning curve, but we’re figuring it out together, one diaper change at a time.
Martin: We understand you’re quite the TikTok sensation. Do you think your followers can expect to see some adorable baby content?
Eric: Exactly! Already planning some fun stuff! Well, once we get a little more sleep, of course [laughs]. My followers have been so supportive and are already excited to meet the little guy.
Martin: That’s fantastic. Do you think social media plays a role in shaping perceptions of parenthood? Particularly for young fathers like yourself?
Eric: Absolutely.You see all these curated images of perfect parents and babies online,which can sometimes create unrealistic expectations. My wife and I want to be authentic and show the real, messy, and gorgeous journey of parenthood. It’s important for young dads to see that it’s okay to be vulnerable and ask for help.
Martin: Wonderful thoughts, Eric.Any message for other new parents or expecting parents out there?
Eric: Don’t be afraid to ask for help and support. Enjoy every moment, even the tough ones. It goes by so quickly.
