TIMNAS Indonesia lost to China 1-2 in the 2026 World Cup Qualification Asia Zone at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, Tuesday (15/10) evening.

Responding to these results, PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir said he would immediately carry out an evaluation. Erick also hopes that supporters will continue to provide their support for the Indonesian national team.

“We must continue to support the Indonesian national team when they win or lose. After they return from China (China) I will carry out an evaluation,” said Erick Thorir via social media.

Indonesia only brought home one point from two away matches to Bahrain and China. In the match at China’s headquarters, the Garuda team suffered their first defeat.

The national team’s path to winning tickets to the World Cup will be steep. The reason is, the target of 15 points is realistically increasingly difficult to achieve with the remaining six matches. Meanwhile, Indonesia has only scored three points.

In Group C standings, Japan sits at the top of the standings with a collection of 10 points. From second place to last position, the distance between points is two points.

Australia is in second place, followed by Saudi Arabia and Bahrain with five points each.

Indonesia is in fifth place and China is in last position with both packing three points. The Garuda team will next face two home matches against strong teams from Japan and then Saudi Arabia in November. (Z-6)
