ESignature App Stops Updates for Older Android and iOS Versions

Say goodbye to ​outdated operating systems! As of February 1st,2025,the popular “eSignature” mobile apps,including “Epemas mobile”,”Eparakstslv”,and “Eid Scan”,will no longer support ‌Android⁤ 8 and iOS 13,or any older versions.

This change, announced by the Latvian⁣ state Radio⁤ and Television Center​ (LVRTC), means users with older ‌devices will still be able to use existing app versions, but won’t be ⁤able to download the ⁢latest updates.

“Details available ‍to the LVRTC ‌indicates that at present, less than 1%‌ of ‘eSignature Mobile’ and other similar app ⁤users use obsolete operating systems,”

the LVRTC stated.

This ⁤decision ‌reflects the ongoing trend​ of evolving technology and the need to ensure seamless functionality and security for users.⁣ The latest app versions are likely to ‌offer improved performance, enhanced features, and better compatibility with the latest security protocols.

In a separate report, the LVRTC also revealed its notable financial performance in 2023. With a turnover of EUR 25,788 ‌million, a 2.3% increase from ‌the previous year, and a profit surge of 2.9 times,reaching EUR 16,314 million,the LVRTC‍ continues ​to be a major player in Latvia’s media landscape.

Beyond its broadcasting operations, the LVRTC also manages parts of “Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” (LMT), the​ state-owned mobile operator, further solidifying its ‌position as a‍ leading ‌telecommunications‌ entity.

LVRTC ‍has saeid ‌less then 1% of users currently utilize outdated operating systems. Was that a major factor⁣ in this decision?

“while the percentage of users ‍on‍ older operating⁢ systems⁤ is ‍indeed small, our priority is to provide the best possible user experience‌ for all,”

Kalniņš continues. “By ​focusing our development efforts on the latest operating systems, ⁤we‍ can ensure our apps remain secure, performant, and offer the most up-to-date ‌features.”

What advice would you give to users who are still using outdated operating systems?

“We encourage users ⁣to consider upgrading their devices to newer models with up-to-date operating systems,” ⁣

Kalniņš advises.​ “this‍ will ensure they ⁢continue to enjoy‍ a seamless and secure experience ⁣with‍ our eSignature apps and‍ benefit from ⁤the latest advancements in technology.”

“Absolutely,”
