In the European edition of the Dreamhack Starcraft 2 Masters Atlanta, the top two winners of the ESL Pro Tour will meet. The German participants excelled in the group phase.
Clément “Clem” Desplances has won the European Edition of Dreamhack Starcraft 2 Masters Atlanta. In the final he faced Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti.
After winning three maps in the best-of-seven series, Reynor seemed confident that he could win the final. In his usual relaxed manner, he sat in front of his screen and nodded to the music on his headphones.
But Clem fought back: He won four maps in a row and thus the tournament. The 20-year-old jumped jubilantly into his father’s arms.

Four German players made it through the group stage. Tobias “ShoWTimE” Sieber only lost to Clem in the semifinals of the lower bracket (0:3) and ended up fourth.
“The match against Clem was pretty bad, but overall I’m happy with the result,” wrote Protoss player ShoWTimE on his Twitter channel.
Clem was a real tournament scare for the Germans: on his way through the lower bracket he first eliminated Julian “Lambo” Brosig (3:1) and Gabriel “HeroMarine” Segat (3:1). Zerg player Lambo made it into the top twelve, while Terran player HeroMarine made it into the top six.
The last German, Fabian “GunGFuBanDa” Mayer, dropped out of the tournament in a duel with ShoWTimE and ended up in the top eight.
