Establishing 500 schools… a project on the table of the government and the Audit Bureau

Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba discussed the project to establish 500 new schools, stressing that the timetable will be followed in addition to continuous technical supervision, he said.

This came during a meeting held on Sunday between Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba, Head of the Audit Bureau Khaled Shakshak, Minister of Education Musa al-Maqrif, Head of the Agency for the Development and Development of Administrative Centers Ibrahim Takita, and directors affiliated with the Ministry and the Bureau.

Al-Dabaiba also urged the adoption of a comprehensive maintenance plan for a number of dilapidated schools, and the disbursement of the operating budget for schools according to specific criteria to ensure the provision of basic services to schools, he said.

The Prime Minister pointed out the need to provide the textbook and distribute it before the start of the school year, according to a timetable and transparent and fair procedures, stressing the lack of complacency in delaying its supply, as he put it.

For his part, Shakshak confirmed that the Audit Bureau considers the establishment of new schools a national project, and a step that is calculated for the national unity government that requires the solidarity of state institutions.

The meeting discussed the Ministry of Education’s plan to provide the textbook and its supplies for the next academic year early, to ensure that it reaches students and pupils before the start of the school year, according to government media.
