Budapest/Brussels – In a resolution on Thursday, the EU Parliament wants to cast doubt on Hungary’s suitability to take over the EU Council Presidency in mid-2024. “The resolution on the rule of law will be adopted with a large majority. Five of the seven political groups support it,” Hungarian rapporteur Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield told journalists in Brussels on Wednesday. For SPÖ-EU delegation head Andreas Schieder, the main goal of the debate has already been achieved.
