The European Central Bank left its rates unchanged today. As a reminder, its deposit rate therefore remains set at 4%.
This pause will allow it to assess the impact of the tightening of monetary conditions, but which in no way prejudges the future as underlying inflation remains high (+4.5% in September year-on-year).
In her press conference, Christine Lagarde is expected to detail the monetary institution’s vision of the economic situation in the euro zone. She may also discuss reducing the size of the ECB’s balance sheet.
