European Farmers’ Protest: Anger, Demands, and the Brussels Siege | Latest Updates

You mightn’t have missed the information. For several days, in several European countries, farmers have been angry. Very angry. Particularly once morest new European decisions impacting their sector, but also they are asking for a decent living, less paperwork, in short: that those who feed can also live.

“I don’t know what my future will hold”, “We have bonuses but they are peanuts”: at the heart of the farmers’ discontent

And it is in this context, following several days of blocking motorways and national roads, that all together, the farmers are heading towards Brussels to “siege” the city this Thursday.

For us, most of the tractors come from Chimay. They went back north via Gozée, then once in Charleroi, they gathered at Couillet, Dampremy and Gosselies. Objective: to bring together 70 to 100 tractors (in sight), under police escort, to participate in the major national demonstration of farmers in the capital.
