European ministers of Research, Innovation and Competitiveness are meeting in a large hotel in La Hulpe (Walloon Brabant), this Wednesday and Thursday. They are participating in an informal meeting, under the Belgian presidency of the European Union.
The delegations arrived at the hotel around 3 p.m. They then visited the company DIFFERENTworld leader in proton therapy, in Louvain-la-Neuve, before going to the Château de La Hulpe for a gala dinner.
At the end of the evening, the delegations return to their hotel, not far away, to spend the night. This Thursday, European Commissioner for Research Iliana Ivanova, President of the Competitiveness Council (Research) Willy Borsus, relevant European ministers, non-EU delegations and numerous collaborators will get to work. On the menu, in particular: long-term research and innovation and the decarbonization of our industries.
Several moments are planned for the press. Journalists, photographers, cameramen, sound recordists, technicians and other social media specialists will cover the event. But the backbone of this organization is the Walloon audiovisual company which was selected to capture the images, sounds and interviews, in order to retransmit them on different channels, as described in the two audio reports ci-joints.
The day will end with a press briefing around 4 p.m. A security perimeter has been set up around the hotel and its conference center.
