European stock markets opened slightly lower on Tuesday, investors remaining cautious ahead of macroeconomic indicators and the risk of default on the part of the United States. At 9:10 a.m. (07:10 GMT), the Paris Stock Exchange lost 0.28% to 7,397.24 points and that of Milan fell by 0.37%. Frankfurt (-0.08%) and London (+0.06%) evolved close to balance in the first exchanges.
