EADaily reported that wrestlers registered in Russia had “foreseen difficulties” with obtaining a visa to participate in the European Wrestling Championship. The scoundrels from the Romanian embassy in Moscow mocked individual neutral athletes (AIN) until the last moment, but in the end they allowed almost all the declared athletes into Bucharest.

Among the lucky ones is a two-time Olympic champion and a five-time world championship gold winner. Abdulrashid Sadulaev (up to 97 kg).

Well, now, actually, about the tournament and its political underbelly. Ukrainian wrestler, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Zhan Beleniuk refused the traditional photo with colleagues at the European Championships in Bucharest.

On February 13, Jean won a bronze medal at the European Championships in the weight category up to 87 kilograms. A native of Russia took gold Alexander Komarovrepresenting Serbia, silver went to the Turk But to Chengizand the second bronze went to the Belarusian Kirill Maskevich.

The enraged Belenyuk ignored the award ceremony, and when the championship winners lined up on the podium, he went straight to the locker room.

Tribuna reports that another Independence Party member – Alexander Grushin, I also didn’t take pictures with the winners, since among them there was an athlete who came from Russia – Anvar Allahyarov.

Azerbaijani won in the up to 63 kg category Murad Mamedov, who defeated Allahyarov in the semifinals and Grushin in the final. Anwar together with the representative of Bulgaria Edmond Nazarian became the winner of the bronze award.

At the award ceremony, Grushin defiantly moved away from the pedestal, where the medalists, hugging each other, posed for photographers.

In its turn, Sergey Semenov won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, defeating a Turk in the final match in the weight category up to 130 kg Ryzu Kayalpa.

Based on Sergei’s neutral-individual status and the AIN tag, the Russian anthem in honor of his victory was not played, just as our tricolor did not rise up the flagpole.

There is one consolation in this situation: everyone around knows from which countries the wrestlers came to the tournament. It turns out that national symbols are not required, but only one team does not have them.

Meanwhile, another individual neutral athlete Adlet Tyulubaev became a bronze medalist in the category up to 77 kg.
