While still in second place among Swiss watch exports last March, China fell back with a decline of nearly 58%. It is no longer part of the top 6 in the April results, which have just been published by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry. A drop that was expected following the closures and confinements imposed by the Chinese authorities in their “zero covid” policy, but which nevertheless does not stop the global increase in exports. Indeed, the latter remained strong in April, with +7.3% for a total value of 1.9 billion francs.
