Everland announced on its website on the 9th that the youngest of five tigers, Kang San-i, passed away around 6 pm on the 8th.
On June 27 last year, at Everland, five tiger cubs were born to Taeho, a father of a Korean tiger, and Gungon, a mother.
They were given the names Beautiful, Daun, Woori, Nara, and Gangsan, respectively. However, the youngest of the two, Kang San-i, died.
According to Everland, on the day of his death, Kang San-i entered the animal sanctuary at 5 pm on the day of his death, and after eating beef, his movements became sluggish.
After the Everland veterinarians performed an autopsy on San-i Kang, the autopsy contents and images were sent to Professor Kim Dae-yong of the Department of Pathology at Seoul National University, and Professor Kim confirmed that the cause of death was shortness of breath due to acute airway obstruction while eating.
Currently, four other tigers, including the mother tiger, are known to be psychologically and physically stable.
