What is it about ? After their setbacks and their adventures of the first opus, Nordine Salhi and Karim Jeb alias Karim and Nono come back in better shape and more determined than ever and continue their quest for success by all means.
After a first bitter failure in the world of reality TV, the two acolytes decide to embark on rap. In his search for musical success, Karim, alias Necrophile, helped by his manager Nono, continues to accumulate failed attempts.
An opportunity for fame is seized, but not everything goes as planned, and the misadventures will follow for the two protagonists.
What does “degun” mean?
The title of the series and the two films comes from the Provencal “dégun”, equivalent to the pronoun “person” in French (but unrelated to the common noun “person” which translates to persona in Provençal). The approximate translation in standard French would be “Less-than-nothing”.

Les Déguns 2 is still produced by the duo Cyrille Droux and Claude Zidi Jr.. In addition, this sequel to Les Déguns brings together many big names in rap, YouTube and the stage: rappers Sofiane Zermani and Soprano, Marseille YouTuber Mohamed Henedi, the comedians Hakim Jemili and Titoff or the singer Zaho to name but a few.
Originally a web-series
The web series Les Déguns was created at the end of 2012 by Nordine Salhi and Karim Jebli. From 2013, they posted a first season on YouTube which was a great success. They then met Hyper Focal Prod who produced the second season. Since then, the adventure has continued and has so far counted 4 seasons, more than 40 episodes, 1 million subscribers and nearly 190 million views on YouTube.
A lucrative franchise
Released in September 2018, Les Déguns brought together nearly 500,000 spectators in French cinemas. The sequel also got off to a good start on July 26, with close to 100,000 admissions for its first day of release in France.
A violent attack
On June 8, 2023, Karim Jebli was the victim of a violent attack coupled with an attempted murder in Marseille, by a group of 5 or 6 masked people armed with an iron bar. He was also hit by a small caliber shot. According to the news channel BFM TV, the young actor from Marseille “was shot in the pelvis and suffered a fractured skull. He was taken to Timone hospital.” In the end, he came out of it without serious physical consequences.
Four suspects were taken into custody. According to the JDD, they would be more related to the drug trafficking raging in the city than with this attempted murder. The investigation was attributed to the police officers of the departmental security of Bouches-du-Rhône.
