The first phase of voting for the 10th Majlis Shura elections will be held in Oman on Sunday. Citizens outside Oman will have the opportunity to vote on Sunday.
Electronic voting method has been adopted for Majlis Shura elections. Voting time is from 8 am to 7 pm. 90 members are to be elected from 83 provinces. 883 candidates are seeking the mandate this time. 33 of them are women. The Supreme Election Committee is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court.
753,952 people are registered to vote in the election for the 10th term. Out of this there are 362,924 female voters. The number of new women voters has increased to 76,059. The Ministry of Home Affairs informed that the administrative, technical, legal and media preparations related to the elections have been completed.
