To ease the transition for users, Netflix has offered the profile transfer option for several months, which allows users to move their information to a new account. But how exactly do you transfer your Netflix profile? What information is kept? We explain everything to you.
Enable Netflix Profile Transfer Feature
Before you can transfer your profile to a new account, it is necessary to activate the feature. Once on the Netflix homepage, go to the top right of your profile icon, in the Account option. At the very bottom of this menu, click Enable Profile Transfer. Note that you can deactivate it just as easily.
This operation can be performed both on a computer and on a mobile device, such as a tablet or a phone. In addition, it is applicable to all active accounts, with the exception of Youth profiles and profiles protected by a PIN code.

Transfer a Netflix profile to a new account
Once enabled, you can transfer your Netflix profile to a new account. To do this, once on the home page, go to the top right on your profile icon and select Transfer a profile. A three-step procedure then begins. Click Next.
The first step is to enter the credentials (email address and password) of your new account.
Next, you will need to verify your email address. Once this step is complete, your profile will be officially transferred and you will be able to access your new Netflix account with all your transferred information.
When the process is complete, the owner of the original account is notified.
What account information is transferred?
When creating a new account from an existing profile, the information transferred is as follows:
- Profile name and icon
- History, including ratings
- Recommendations
- My List Titles
- Settings (language, subtitles, access restrictions, autoplay…)
- Participation in testing
- Saved games and aliases
Please note that saved games and aliases will be deleted from the original profile once the transfer is complete.
