Vienna / Maria Enzersdorf – The upheavals on the energy markets of the past year are clearly reflected in the annual report of the listed Lower Austrian energy supplier EVN. Sales increased by 69.6 percent to around 4.06 billion euros in the 2021/22 financial year, while profits fell by 35.6 percent to 209.6 million euros. In south-eastern Europe, the sharp rise in electricity prices brought significant increases, while at the same time the cost of purchasing electricity from third parties rose sharply, the company said.
