In more detail, the unknown perpetrators called the two sufferers by phone pretending to be doctors and under the pretext that their relative needed immediate surgery, they demanded sums of money for the provision of their services, persuading them to collect money, gold pounds and jewelry as the case may be and in then deliver them to a predetermined point, to their partners.
Yesterday at noon, in Orestiada, he was arrested by police officers of the Orestiada Security Directorate after an organized police operation, a foreigner, who earlier extracted a sum of money from the elderly victim of the second case under the above pretext, which was attributed to its beneficiary.
A case file was filed against the perpetrator for the crimes of founding and participating in a criminal organization and fraud, while the relevant case file also includes her unknown accomplices who are wanted.
In addition, as established on 14-3-2024 in the settlement of Evros, the aforementioned foreigner extorted a sum of money, gold pounds and jewels from the elderly victim of the first case under the same pretext.
Two mobile phones and a sum of money were found and confiscated in the possession of the perpetrator.
The arrested woman will be taken to the District Attorney of Orestiada, while the police investigation and preliminary investigation continue by the Orestiada Security Directorate, to identify her accomplices and verify their possible participation in committing similar crimes.
