What Herbert Bolliger (69) dares, hardly anyone else dares: the former Migros boss shared this week in a Blick interview with his successors at the top of the orange giant: “I wonder if they still know which company they work for.”
The bone of contention: the possible sale of alcohol in Migros. The Migros cooperative members have until June 4th to vote on this. A two-thirds majority is needed to overturn the alcohol ban.
Bolliger makes enemies
In Bolliger’s eyes, Migros would betray the values of its founder Gottlieb Duttweiler (1888-1962). He fights on all channels against the lifting of the sales ban. He is now making enemies internally at Migros.
“There were very negative reactions from those responsible for Migros,” says Bolliger in the “Sunday newspaper». According to information from the newspaper, Bolliger was insulted as a “traitor” for his statements. He himself gives no further details.
Flying beer mug
The so-called “group for the M values” around ex-boss Bolliger also polarized in the voting campaign with a subject: It shows how the iconic orange Migros M kicks away a beer mug. It says: “Not my beer!
Bolliger and his comrades-in-arms justify their resistance to the sale of alcohol with Dutti’s inheritance. The fact that no alcohol is sold is “one of the pillars of Migros,” said Bolliger in a Blick interview. In view of the vote, “his hair stood on end,” said the former Migros boss.
