Ex-PSG star had leg amputated: drama about Bruno Rodriguez – football

Sad news from former French center forward Bruno Rodriguez (49). Doctors had to amputate the right leg of the former Paris Saint-Germain professional. The French players’ union UNFP informed about this.

The report states that the former Ligue 1 striker had to have a leg amputated due to “constant suffering” from the “aftermath” of his playing career. Persistent inflammation after an ankle injury is to blame.

Rodriguez made a total of 234 appearances in Ligue 1 in his career, including 20 appearances (scoring 6 goals) for 1999 PSG.

His ex-club sent recovery wishes on Twitter, writing among other things: “Paris Saint-Germain sends a message of support to his former striker Bruno Rodriguez, his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

In France, the attacker stormed for Monaco, Bastia and Metz, among others. Rodriguez also played for Rayo Vallecano in Spain and Bradford City in England.

The striker ended his career at the age of 32 because of persistent ankle problems. 17 years later, the doctors had to remove the ex-footballer’s right leg.
