Ex-Rapidler Kara netted in Orlando win in MLS

A sense of achievement for Ercan Kara in Major League Soccer (MLS): A week following his debut goal in the US soccer league, the ex-Rapid striker followed up on Saturday (local time) and netted once more for Orlando City. The 26-year-old scored the second goal in his team’s 2-0 away win at Columbus Crew with a fine turning shot (51′). Kara, who had moved to the USA during the winter break, was substituted in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile, Christian Fuchs and Charlotte FC lost 2-1 at the hands of New England Revolution, the Austrian full-back playing through. The New York Red Bulls, coached by Gerhard Struber, did not get better than a 0-0 home draw once morest FC Dallas. In the Eastern Conference table, Orlando is second behind Philadelphia Union, New York is third, and Charlotte is currently eighth.

Meanwhile, ex-Rapidler Taxiarchis Fountas slipped into a 3-2 home loss to Austin on his MLS debut for DC United. The Greek came on as a substitute in the 58th minute to give DC a 2-0 lead but still left the field as a loser.
