Franchising of the Mestdagh store network taken over by Intermarché continues. Three additional integrated supermarkets will be franchised in October.
A new extraordinary works council convened this Wednesday morning at Mestdagh gave rise to a third announcement, by management, of stores to be franchised. By the beginning of October, three additional stores (Luttre, Gembloux and Uccle) will be taken over by an independent Intermarché member.
With 25 Mestdagh taken over by an Intermarché member out of 51, the process of franchising the 51 Mestdagh integrated comes halfway. After a first batch of 17 stores taken over at the beginning of July, the management announced at the end of July the franchising of 5 additional stores.

With three more stores taken over, this Wednesday’s announcement did not nothing spectacular. According to a spokesperson for Intermarché, we must see above all the summer vacation period, which has slowed down the pace. A new extraordinary works council should also be convened within two or three weeks.
