Eleven o’clock strikes at the church of Muhlbach-sur-Munster this Sunday and the first of the Marcaires ultra-trail is finally announced on arrival. Leaving the day before at 10 p.m., Bruno Lallemand ended up managing the last descent of his 88 km despite “quads on fire”.
This is understandable since the modified course of this ultra, which gained four kilometers but also 600 meters of elevation (5,200 m) in one year, was particularly demanding, between a first technical part following the Hohneck and a second more rolling.
