It is not surprising that, at least within Latin America, Chilean idioms and ways of speaking are material for tandem and, from time to time, a video about it appears that goes viral.

In this case, the protagonist was a Uruguayan tiktoker, known as “El Chico” (@el.chichovs on TikTok), who shared with his more than 45,000 followers a material imitating different concepts that were used in Chile, compared to other countries on the continent, and Spain.

Thus, he started by showing that, when answering the phone, in Uruguay, Argentina and Peru they say: “Hello”. On the other hand, here the phrase is: “Hello”.

Meanwhile, in Spain, Mexico or Paraguay they simply use the word “contamination” to refer to dirty air, while on Chilean soil it is: “Smog”.
