The chancellor, Diana Mondinoconfirmed that in the inspection carried out in the China’s Deep Space Station in Neuquén “no one detected that there were military personnel” in their facilities and launched a controversial phrase.

“Those who were involved in the investigation did not identify that there were military personnel. They are Chinese, they are all the same“, he stated in an interview with Clarion in Paris, where he arrived after an official visit to China.

Mondino went to the French capital to present “the roadmap” for Argentina to enter the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

What Diana Mondino said about the Chinese base in Neuquén

Mondino said that “an inspection has already been carried out at the Chinese Space Station and the European Space Station (Malargüe). It was the same team both times and over the course of a week, those teams They didn’t notice anything strange”, he indicated.

Furthermore, he stated: “What we are going to do is form Argentine science and technology or research teams that can take advantage of those resources. Because in the Chinese base you can use not only the equipment, but for a certain amount of time. And Argentina was not using that,” he continued.

The chancellor said that the relationship with China “has been, is and will be excellent” and denied that there had been a complicated start due to a series of statements by Javier Milei in the campaign against the Beijing government.

“I don’t know where that perception came from because it never happened. What is true is that Argentina had failed to comply with practically all contracts signed with Chinese companies before the new government and that generates concern. But this new government is trying to reorder and reorient all those activities, plus attract investments that could be, of course, from China,” he indicated.

He explained that “what President Milei said was that we were not going to have business State-State relations. We are not going to generate them. “Those from the past will continue because they have already been signed and the Republic is one.”

Then, he said he hoped that the links between Chinese and Argentine businessmen would be “very active,” especially in areas “where the State does not have to participate.” Furthermore, he stated: “You could consider the ideological problem from the point of view that We are not going to use money from Argentine taxpayers for a particular business”.
