RIYADH: The June issue of “Chilla” monthly reading was meaningful with the diversity and analytical approach of the new generation of reading. Akhil started ‘my reading’ by sharing his experience of reading Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard’s book “Fear and Trampling”. Akhil said that in this work, Kierkegaard, who has done a great deconstruction of the basic consciousness and thinking of human life, is doing a psychological analysis of faith.

Snigdha Vipin shares her experience of reading “Island of Blood” by renowned journalist Anita Pratap. Snigdha said that by reading this book, she was able to understand that war and civil unrest in Sri Lanka and Afghanistan would first affect the children and women of that region.

Ansar Abdul Sattar shared his experience of reading the short story collection “Ma” written by Hadiq Jabbar, a school student in Riyadh.

Kompan Musa presented the reading experience of Shihabuddeen Poithumkadavan’s socio-horror novel “Brahmaraksasi”. Musa opined that through his novel, Shihabuddeen narrates the curious experience of new invasions by corporates using even the myth of Brahmarakshas as a weapon to ensnare their victims.

Sharing his reading experience, Shihab Kunchis said that Maitreya’s “Manushyarariyan” is a book that forces us to question and correct the notions that we firmly believe to be true because they are dear to us.

Bina, Vipin, Sameer, Basheer Kanjirapuzha, Vinod Kumar Malail, Sunil, Vidya Vipin, Rajula, Manaf and others participated in the discussion and spoke. T. R. Subramanian reviewed the book references and discussions. Nasser Karakunnu was the moderator of the event.
