President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today, at the Federal Palace, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, who is on a state visit to Egypt, the first of its kind.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the two leaders held talks at the summit level, during which they affirmed the distinction of the joint historical relations between the two friendly countries, and the mutual commitment to reach broader horizons in various fields, especially through the intensification of mutual visits between senior officials in the two countries. The visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Egypt follows the state visit of the President to New Delhi last January, and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and India.
President Al-Sisi decorated the Indian Prime Minister with the Nile Necklace, which represents the highest Egyptian honors, and the greatest of importance and value.
