The live action One Piece series is still a hot topic of discussion on social media. Various content related to the story of Luffy CS has colored social media for the past few months. Starting from debates to discussions about the characters who will appear in the second season of the Netflix series, it invites quite interesting discussions.

One thing that has attracted quite a lot of attention is the tweet from a fan account from the manga by Eiichiro Oda. He uploaded a photo of Ryan Gosling edited to resemble the One Piece character, Doflamingo. This upload was widely commented on by netizens because it was considered quite suitable.

“Need him to play Doflamingo in live action,” wrote the account @onepiecedailys.

The edited photo is taken from a scene in Barbie, where Ryan Gosling is wearing a pink fur coat which is also the same as the outfit worn by Doflamingo. Netizens also agreed with this opinion, some even advised the actor to want to do it.

“Very suitable!” wrote netizens.

“Oh my gosh, it’s really true,” wrote another.

“@RyanGosling it’s okay,” netizen wrote.

The first season of One Piece aired on August 31 and they immediately released eight episodes. However, Doflamingo’s figure has not been shown or appeared in the series. Now they are in the process of working on the second season, which is said to have completed the script.

This was revealed by one of the bosses from the studio working on One Piece live action, namely Marty Adelstein, who opened his voice about the second season.

In an interview with Variety, the Tomorrow Studio boss said that the script for the second season was no longer being worked on, but had already been completed. They said they just had to shoot.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t start filming yet because they were hampered by the SAG-AFTRA strike which made this only possible after the demo had ended.

Oda in his official statement also stated that he still needed time for the second season.

“Two weeks after the launch, I received good news. Netflix decided to continue the ONE PIECE series! The live action version of the adventures of Iñaki and the Straw Hat Gang will continue! It takes time to prepare the script. So, please be patient, OK.”

“From now on, it looks like the Straw Hat Gang will need a great doctor… We’ll see!” said Oda in his official statement.

If you look at the comics, Doflamingo’s appearance is still quite far away because he only appeared in chapter 608 and in chapter 723 he only fought against Luffy, who was plotting with Law. Meanwhile, in the anime, he only appeared in the 151st episode and is still very far from the story that was just brought up in the live action series.

Donquixote Doflamingo is a member of the Shichibukai and also the king of Dressrosa. He was previously a noble or Tenryuubito, but he chose to leave that status and become a pirate.

He has the power of the Ito Ito No Mi Paramecia type devil fruit which allows him to create invisible ropes. This power can make it move freely in the air and also control the enemy’s movements to create a cage from the rope.
