The photographic exhibition white facesby the architect, designer and photographer from Cienfuegos Yohandy Sánchez Morado, arrived at the Leblanc Palace, together with the protagonists of the images, Chela and Chopete, who offered a colorful show to the invited children, as a prelude to the celebration for the 15th years of artistic life of this duo of clowns.
“I find myself before a set of images whose first impression is respect. Out of respect, since we are witnessing a collection of scenes that we could call carefully executed and with a very coherent discourse in all of them. It constitutes a sample of the professional maturity that Yohandy already shows,” described his colleague, also a visual artist with a meritorious career, Yoel de la Paz López.
Hanging on the walls of the Leblanc are twelve images in which José Adrián Fernández Monzón (Chopete) and Yanela González (Chela) appear, well-known clowns who form a couple both at work and in intimate life.

The snapshots, evocative of different moments in dissimilar shows offered to the Cuban family, but especially to the little ones, exude excess grace and technique, taking advantage of the classic postures of the models, the rich expressiveness of the faces that delves into psychology; also linked to the intimacy of the duo, as well as the revelation of the contrast within the city context.
Sánches Morado dedicated the personal exhibition to his daughter Alexia Sánchez and declared in his acknowledgments that “the ambition of white faces was not only to reflect the virtuosity dedicated to the noble art of clown, but to expose that there is something beyond that”. Likewise, he recognized the support of the Cañabrava Theater Group, the Nuevas Luces Production Team, the Guiñol Theater of Cienfuegos, among others.
El Chino –as his friends know him– has been working independently since 2014, and is the creative architect of MyStudio Cienfuegos. He has participated in national and foreign photography contests, mention the IX Edition of Digital Nature 2021 and the international city photography contest FotoNaraton 2021.
