What is the Notice of Compliance (NOC) data extract?

The data extract is a series of compressed ASCII files from the Database. The uncompressed format occupies approximately 29.7 MB. To use the data, the file must be loaded into an existing database or information system. Typical users are usually third party reviewers, provincial drug formularies, insurance companies, etc. To use the file, the casual user must be familiar with the structure of the database and be able to formulate their own inquiries. The “Readme” folder contains the data structure required to download the compressed files.

The Compliance Notice (NOC) data extract has been updated. The files contained in the extract contain the authorization dates for all medicines for which a NOC has been issued since 1994. All NOCs issued between 1991 and 1993 appear on the List of Compliance Notices.

Please note that all Portable Document Format (PDF) files found in the CA database are not part of the data extracts.
