The elements of the judicial police of Tangier arrested, Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the evening, on the basis of information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), an extremist affiliated with the group called “State Islamic” (EI), a native of Mohammedia and 28 years old. And this within the framework of the efforts of the security services aimed at eradicating terrorist threats and neutralizing extremist projects that threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom.
The DGST indicates that the investigations established that the respondent had announced that he had pledged allegiance to the alleged emir of the “Daesh” organization and had actually invested himself in the preparations for the execution of a terrorist plan against one of the establishments sensitive in Tangier, through a destructive act according to the terrorist modus operandi adopted by the fighters of “Daesh”.
The defendant was placed in police custody to deepen the investigation carried out by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation under the supervision of the General Prosecutor’s Office in charge of terrorism cases with a view to identifying all the targets targeted by the defendant and to specify his links with possible accomplices.
