The second free practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix saw Fernando Alonso surprise the two Red Bulls.
The same trio is at the top of the timesheets after EL2, but this time Aston Martin is in first place ahead of Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez: the Spaniard thus invites himself among the favorites for the Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari is in fourth place ahead of the Haas of ghost Nico Hülkenberg, the second Aston Martin of convalescent Lance Stroll and the first Alpine of Pierre Gasly.
The other Frenchman Esteban Ocon is in eleventh position, the two A523s being separated by the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton, the McLaren of Lando Norris and the Alfa Romeo of Guanyu Zhou.

This session took place in night conditions, at the same time as qualifying tomorrow and the race on Sunday, so it is much more representative than the first.
