Fabienne Thibeault and her young protégé Kiona are back at the end of April 2024 from a trip to Morocco. The two singers, closely linked to Indre-et-Loire, became the godmothers of an orphanage village built in El Haouz by the Moroccan Association for Aid to Children in Precarious Situations (Amesip). It will be able to accommodate 144 children, wards of the Nation.

An in situ clip for “Chanson pour Meryem”

This Moroccan association serving children in precarious situations, of public utility, had also invited the two artists to come and shoot a clip in the earthquake territory with a Moroccan team.

“On September 8, 2023, the worst earthquake in its history hit Morocco. In front of my television, I saw the rescuers extract young Meryem, 11 years old, from the rubble, who had learned of the death of her mother. Moved, I started writing a text, traces Fabienne Thibeault. A few months later, with my husband Christian Montagnac and his production La Fauvette brune, we began the recording of an album “Autour de Fabienne” for which I am the author of the texts, with the participation of artist friends from all generations. , at the Tram 28 studio in Reignac-sur-Indre, with Fabien Tessier at the helm. »

Song for Meryem, for which Kiona lends her voice, came to complete this album – also with the assistance of the composer Ciramarios.

“Our videographer Grégoire Verdier, from Saint-Quentin-sur-Indrois, produced a first clip in the studio which was put on the networks,” also traces Fabienne Thibeault. It is this video which was able to reach Moroccans… and which was at the origin of the stay organized from April 22 to 29, 2024.

Other projects for Kiona and Fabienne Thibeault

The collaboration between the young singer from Saint-Avertin and her mentor Fabienne Thibeault continues. Several projects are underway.

Kiona will record, at Tram 28, a song written by the Quebec artist with the composer Fabien Tessier and the orchestrator and choir director Emmanuel Jacquet. For this song, Kiona will be accompanied by the Chinon high school choir.

A song at the top of the French-speaking world

“This song is an anthem to French-speaking youth, under the great kindness of the Minister of La Francophonie Franck Riester. Normally Kiona will sing it during the Francophonie Summit next October,” announces Fabienne Thibeault.

In the meantime, the public of Indre-et-Loire will be able to discover it during the Kiona concert on Friday, May 24, at 8:30 p.m., on the stage of the Nouvel Atrium in Saint-Avertin.
