Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step) won the 2nd stage of Paris-Nice in a sprint on Monday March 7, very intense due to the wind which facilitated many breaks in the peloton. Frenchman Christophe Laporte (Jumbo), very present at the front of the race, kept the leader’s jersey. Jakobsen beat Belgian champion Wout van Aert and Slovenian Luka Mezgec to settle a first peloton of around forty elements. Tuesday, the third stage presents a more hilly profile in its second half of the 190.8 kilometer long route between Vierzon (Cher) and Dun-le-Palestel (Creuse).
