2024-03-17 10:00:04

A symbol of lightness, speed and technology, the new Ostro Vam from Factor is revealed and Audrey Cordon-Ragot tells us about it.

The English manufacturer Factor recently won the Santos Tour Down Under with Israel-Premier Tech and its rider Stephen Williams, on the prototype of the Ostro Vam 2024. Tested for the first time during this tour Down Under, the new Ostro Vam demonstrated entry its seriousness and its qualities in terms of rigidity and aerodynamics. The start of the season and the classics will be a second full-scale test.

The second edition of the Ostro Vam is driven by the same quest as its predecessor: “harmony and excellence in design and engineering” according to Factor. Designed by cyclists, developed with science, made in their own factory by manufacturers who strive to be at the forefront of technology.

Audrey Cordon-Ragot (Human Powered Health) has been riding the Factor Ostro Vam 2024 recently but has a good impression of versatility: rigidity, lightness, responsiveness and aero. However, the bike will be eagerly awaited for the rest of the season “for the moment I have good impressions, but I’m really waiting to test on the cobblestones”, she has since finished 13th in Nokere Koerse.

The bike was designed in combo with Black Inc 48/58 wheels. According to Audrey Cordon-Ragot “These wheels are real killer, on flat passages at 45/50 km/h, it’s monstrous in nervousness and response”. The particularity of these wheels is the rounded profile which provides stability giving the cyclist a greater feeling of control. In addition, associated with Black Inc wheels and with a Dura Ace Di2 configuration, the bike can reach the 6.8kg minimum weight imposed by the UCI.
