In April, former Lebanese President Michel Aoun said that Lebanon, in agreement with Syria, had returned 500,000 displaced people to their homes, indicating that the Syrian security displaced was not a political one.
Aoun stressed that “most European countries do not want to return the displaced Syrians to their country,” pointing out that the process of integrating the displaced Syrians into the Lebanese people is “a dangerous matter.”
Likewise, Aoun believed that “whoever demolished Syria and paid money for the war to take place in it must start building it.”
