According to the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), the construction materials sector moved 315.408 billion reais in 2021, the most recent survey made by the entity. The average number of employed persons was approximately 634 thousand, in addition to indirect jobs generated in works, stores, home centers and wholesalers. This market represents a thermometer of the country’s economy, through investment in renovations and construction of new homes.
FEICON 2023, which hosts business from the main companies in this segment, recorded a new series of records, making it one of the biggest editions of all time. The event received 102,500 visitors, 75% of whom had decision-making power over the purchasing process. According to the organizers, the 3rd day of the event was the most visited in the history of the fair.
In this universe, companies that offer products aimed at the comfort of homes, such as light bulbs, lamps, batteries and batteries, stand out, among others. “We are very pleased with Feicon’s result. Our stand received many customers who were able to see this year’s launches, which generated new business”, says Patrícia Lima, commercial director of Elgin’s consumer goods line.
She adds that the volume of transactions in events like this signals how the market should behave in the coming months: “We believe that we will have a year of heating in the sector and we must be prepared for that”, concludes Patrícia.
