Falcom released its business plan following the 23rd Annual Meeting of Shareholders, revealing the company’s plans to expand Nintendo Switch development and release more games per year. Many Trails games in the series are currently in development at Falcom (Thanks, Hansuké).
Falcom intends to strengthen in-house Nintendo Switch development while continuing to promote cross-platform versions. The business plan outlines Nintendo Switch alongside PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as Falcom’s main development platforms. Falcom also appreciates foreign audiences with the promotion of cross-platform and translated works such as The Legend of Heroes: The Trails of Reverie.
Several games are in preparation at Falcom including two Trails games are in development and a brand new action RPG. A fourth title is in development, but details surrounding the game are scarce at this time. In addition, three ports are in development, which as referred to Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana and the other two “refined” titles.
The company plans to increase the number of games released each year and create new intellectual properties. Currently, Falcom releases around 2-3 games per year, and the company wants to expand that annual total to 4-5 per year. As development is a long-term process, Falcom intends to release many titles over the next 2-4 years.
